Migrating from Hevy to VitaLog

Hevy exports workouts as CSV from Settings → Data. VitaLog imports a single JSON file (Settings → Import). A direct CSV-to-JSON migration tool is not yet built, on the roadmap. Motivated users can manually map columns, or pick a migration cutover date where Hevy handles history and VitaLog handles new sessions.

Hevy has a more polished rest-timer, better Apple Watch integration, and a larger exercise-social graph (friends, likes, workout sharing). If your workflow is purely gym-logging and you value social features, Hevy is well-designed. VitaLog's workout tab covers the same set-rep-weight-RPE-PR primitives but without the social network, which some users prefer for privacy.
Can Hevy track my bloodwork or peptides?
No. Hevy is a workout tracker, it does not include bloodwork analysis, peptide dose calculation, pharmacokinetic simulation, TRT support, or compound-interaction alerts. If any of these workflows matter to you, they would live in a separate app (or be absent). VitaLog covers all of them in one workspace.
How do the pricing models compare?
VitaLog is free. No paid tiers, no ads. Hevy has a free tier with Apple Watch support and workout logging, plus "Hevy Pro" (approximately $23.99/year as of early 2026) that unlocks advanced analytics, unlimited routines, custom widgets, and body-measurement tracking. For a casual gym user the Hevy free tier is sufficient; for a power user the Pro tier is inexpensive. VitaLog offers more capability at the free tier but less polished pure-gym UX. Verify Hevy's current pricing on their site before making a decision.
What about privacy?
VitaLog encrypts progress photos client-side with AES-256-GCM before upload, the server never sees plaintext. Account data is local-first by default; cloud sync is optional and end-to-end encrypted at rest. Hevy stores your workouts on their servers with standard server-side encryption (client-side encryption is not advertised), and uses standard analytics per their public privacy policy. For users who consider progress-photo privacy important, the material difference is that VitaLog's architecture makes plaintext photos subpoena-unreachable, not a claim Hevy makes.
Can I migrate from Hevy to VitaLog?
Partially. Hevy exports workout data as CSV. VitaLog accepts a structured JSON import (single-file format) but does not yet have a one-click Hevy CSV importer. Manually mapping Hevy's CSV columns into VitaLog's workout-log schema is straightforward for motivated users but not a one-click path. This is on the roadmap.
Who should use Hevy?
Users whose workflow is 95% gym logging, who value social features (friends, workout sharing, leaderboards), who have an Apple Watch and want integrated workout control, and who don't track bloodwork, peptides, or TRT. In our view, Hevy is among the most polished apps in pure gym tracking.
